Migration, whether international or internal, is a major feature of the contemporary world. Although humans have always migrated in search of new opportunities, migration is nowadays part of the era of globalization and new forms of mobility continue to reshape world societies. More and more countries are affected at the same time by these human flows which tend to grow in volume, to accelerate and to blur migrants' categories and distinction between host countries and countries of origin.
Due to its globalized nature, migration has become a crucial issue debated at all levels (international, regional, national and local) for study, assistance, or management of migration depending on the nature and mandates of actors involved (academia, governmental agencies, Intergovernmental organizations, multilateral institutions, nongovernmental organizations, etc.).
